If your repalcement alternator is not a Denso, you should get a 3rd alternator installed. Valve adjustment has nothing to do with spool valve labor, as you do not remove the valve covers when replacing just the top half of the spool valve. I suggest you find new mechanics, get a Denso alternator installed, muzzle your VCM, install the spool valve.
Make sure the ignition switch is OFF. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery first, then disconnect the positive cable. Remove the intake manifold cover. Remove the drive belt. Jun 18, 2017 · Remove drive belt tensioner (14mm screw on lower, idler pulley; 12mm screw at very bottom). This was easier than removing AC compressor as said in manual. Disconnect plugs and wires to alternator, push out of the way. One 10mm screw on Alt bracket. 3 screws on Alt - 2 top ones are 12mm, bottom is 14mm.
