Ive been fishing metro for years, and the only species of gar ive seen back there are the longnose. The spotted have a shorter snout, and slight differences in coloration.

Oct 25, 2015 · Usually start fishing about 8am til 11 or so then the bite seems to slow. Over 100 caught consistently with us taking home 25 to 35 each time. We only keep eight inches and up and we had some beautiful slab perch this year. Also took some very nice Pike caught off smaller perch under bobbers.

Generally people say a North wind is not good because it follows a cold front 90% of the time.
