Both champions swapped to 2nd fighter and druid and party dpr, and effectiveness, shot right up. Champion suffers same issue as most martials in pf2e. Fighter exists and is very powerful. Often better just playing fighter. Bizarrely, fighter can get free shield raises at level 12. Afaik, Champion needs to wait until level 20 for that ability.
