Synthetic stocks are pretty much maintenance free, the weather doesn't bother it and it can take the abuse of hunting.The worst part about wood is all the little dings and scratches you will get from taking it to the field. Synthetic. Lighter, won't warp, and you won't cry over all the dings and scratches. Bonus: if you don't care about looks, you can stipple the stock yourself with a soldering iron.
