Darkmoon isn't great. You'll be be genuinely better off damage wise with the banished knight greatsword infused with magic, and using a good damaging weapon art on it. That's the biggest problem with elden ring at the moment is just R1's don't do good damage. Hell, get a noble side sword or a straight sword and use it with magic infusion.

Does basically the same thing as the Dark Moon Greatsword but it's buff is cheaper, comes out faster and the damage boost from it when buffed it a lot bigger but it doesn't get a unique attack when buffed like the Dark Moon Greatsword. The buff was mostly a QoL thing imo : Moonlight Greatsword - Decreased FP cost. Increased cast speed and decreased recovery time. Increased the frost buildup effect during the skill duration. Didn't notice any change regarding frost build up so I'm assuming the "increase" is rather small.
