Well, technically my Izanagi build is a high mag persona. He naturally gains pretty high mag stats, and I offset it a little by making sure he doesn't put anything into Luck. The default Izanagi has very few skills, so it's better to use him as an ingredient in fusion now, and buy him back or fuse a new one later. And there are some Izanagi variations later in the game...but that would be spoilers. In sum: you won't lose him forever if you fuse him now.
