No idea why they limit those cars in GT . Suspensions settings are very good stock , you only need to balance the way you like using downforce. I like to use both between mini 1050 fr 1400 rear maxi 1400 fr rear 1750. Downforce is huge , very effecient but prejudicial to top speed on thos weak low power engines.

To compete for the absolute top spot at 800 PP, on any track (save for SSX), only Gr.1 cars are viable, and I believe everyone knows that. There's the odd one that doesn't really work that well, but Praiano is a master at tuning for Gran Turismo as a whole, not just GT7.
