The Petpet lab map can do the same things as the Neopet lab ray. It can change your Petpet species, color and level. Often Petpets turn into a pile if sludge. This is a lab ray only color, just as chocolate, gold and strawberry. Some colors can also be zapped that would normally be gotten by using a cooking pot recipe, such as the moink.

Completing the map gives you access to the Lab Ray which gives you a daily zap for a random species/colour! There’s lab exclusive colors that you can only get with the lab zapping your pet. Plus some people like to zap pets and get them to cool and unique colors and then adopt them out to people.
