The 2.5" 410 is harder to find than 3" magnums, so if you can find a Magnum JUDGE it would be the best choice. But the 2.5" 410 will still cover more of the cylinder than a 45 colt, so the extra space is not really an issue. The real reason, is the plastic shot cups of modern 410's actually covers the rifling when you fire the 410's thru THE JUDGE.
