The uchigatana is still a perfectly good weapon though, and you'll probably not find anything strictly 'better'. No reason to switch weapons, unless you're just getting bored of katanas in general. I was going to switch to a scythe but I still like my katana build so I'll just keep chipping away at it.

Main reason is that at 14str/40dex the Uchigatana has 420 attack rating and the Balder Side Sword has 379. Against enemies with high physical resistance that extra ~40AR is pretty noticeable.
