Elemental Cat. Early Easy Kill or just full Leap Bird. Dakka Bunny. Tsunami Aspis spam turtle. Pretty much any of the Fox builds atm. Not to mention anyone can just do the abuse build we don't talk about here, some of them as early as at the very first craftsman. Broken builds exist for everyone, but Ao Bai is still pretty darn weak.

If you get the right ones you can do an inordinate amount of damage with them and hit quite a few enemies at once, but whenever trying it myself I always found that I couldn't quite get the build right.It becomes pointless if you get spirit feline scroll, hands down the best defensive bonus in the game though. Explosive weapons are a trap for ao bai, they just simply don't scale at all the same way every other gun does. There's not enough bonus explosive damage to justify doing an explosion build. Possibly. Everyone will have a bias, and every gun in C tier and higher can be insane with the right mods / build. Just from an all rounded perspective I feel like it doesn't quite stack up. In an Ao Bai build though for sure it is a force to be reckoned with. The First beginner Build is a basic Duel-Wield build without explosive weapons. With this build you will ignore everything in the Detonation Ascension tree and Focus on Gunfire and Veteran Ascensions. Ao Bai's Grenades? Useless without Atomic Bomb blessing. Qing Yan's Cleave? Damage wise it's useless without Bladed Cleave blessing. And Xing Zhe can't really make a good Essence Drain build without the Essence Drainer blessing. I'm not going to keep ranting about this, I'm just pointint out the problem.

Ao Bai's special skill is never useless, it never scales badly, it always works and helps and it isn't a huge risk to use beyond a cooldown. Crown Prince is the same, his orb may fall off damage-wise, but the CC is never bad, and if you get Energy Echo the elemental combos may end up wiping out enemies faster than your weapons can. You need at least one ascension of punch capacity (so you can regenerate punch while punching, and one of the ascensions at least for punch regenerates .5 sec+ of shield, from there skill damage while holding shield and general punch damage are good. Or max shield after dropping shield buff is good for defensive.
