The down side to low gears, is that your give up some fuel millage. The RPMs will increase at any speed. So lets say your doing 70 MPH now, and turning 1800 RPMs and your truck has 342 gears. So you swap out the 342s for some 410s, then at 70 MPH you might turn 2600 RPMs. ( this is just an example).

A rebuild with good & extra clutches will result in 600-700 crank hp. Some more easy mods and you can build them to hold well over 1000hp.
