I like McGowen barrels and get a new barrel every year for one of a bunch of rifles. Excellent service & product. My select match cleans up without a trace of copper while the other tends to have a small amout of copper in it. You will have to be a benchrest shooter to notice the difference in accuracy! Shilen makes great quality barrels, but not because the rifling style. The performance comes from good quality blanks with sharp tooling, good quality control, so on, so on. The ratchet rifling is marketing. Maybe it makes a difference, but it's not enough of a difference for a mere mortal like myself to notice. Straight Shooter.

All three were equally accurate, and the best groups I could get with each of them for 5 shots at 50 yards measured 1/4". I used a 20x scope for the tests.
