Steel Falchion, speed weapons rule, but I use a mod called Combat Controls Redux that allows me to repeat my attack by holding down the button, makes speed much more effective. As far as the best weapon in the game, for me it's the Galaxy Sword with Infinity upgrade (of course) forged with three ruby and enchanted with crusader.
